From June 23rd to 29th, 2009, BalticStudyNet will hold a
workshop for academic and administrative staff from higher
education institutions from non-European countries. The workshop
is especially designed to make multipliers from non-European
universities acquainted with the Baltic Sea Region, its politics,
history, economy, and regional culture. Special emphasis is
put on the region's higher education structures, study possibilities
and scholarship options for students and researchers. That
way, academic staff in key positions is enabled to inform
students and colleagues thoroughly about the scientific opportunities
the region offers.
Scholarships for the workshop are available on application
before February 15, 2009, offering full coverage of participation,
subsistence and accommodation costs, as well as transportation
during the workshop. A limited number of travel grants (to
Turku and from Gdansk) can also be applied for.
Eligible are multipliers (e.g. staff in international offices,
university administration, student service centers, exchange
services, ministries of education) worldwide, except for citizens
of European Union member states and EU candidate countries
(i.e. Turkey, Croatia, FYROM).
