The Studierendenvortragsreihe Gender Studies at HU Berlin has begun! The SVR Gender Studies is a platform for students, especially those in the early stages of study, to practice presenting their gender–related research topics, get inspired by their peers’ work, and exchange feedback with other students in a collegial, constructive, and transdisciplinary environment.

From August to September 2019, we had the honour of selecting 7 inspiring research projects out of 34 applications from students around Europe. 7 speakers will present their exciting projects across 14 weeks.

This year we are happy to announce that the program can also offer 2 credit-points under the module “Free Choice” (module 6 in B.A., module 8 in M.A.) for gender studies students at HU Berlin.

**Members of the public are welcome to come to any and all of the sessions**

This lecture series serves several goals: (1) it motivates students to be more active and reflect upon the knowledge they have gained in their studies, and 2) by acknowledging student research, knowledge production in academia can be more inclusive and democratic. However, as a student-organized course and with limited (voluntary) work-capacity, it is really difficult to gain visibility among students.
