Berlin - Metropolis of Science and Culture

The 1st EARSeL SIG URS workshop will be held at the Erwin-Schrödinger Centre in Berlin-Adlershof. The “City of Science, Technology and Media“, as Berlin-Adlershof is also called, is Berlin’s largest science and technology campus and its biggest media location. Twelve non-university research institutes and six natural science faculties of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin create a unique network, including more than 370 high tech companies.

Beyond science - Germany’s capital Berlin is by far the largest city in Germany. With a great number of historical and political places of interest, Berlin can also be seen as a “cultural capital”. Locations like the PotsdamerPlatz, Checkpoint Charlie, or the Brandenburg Gate have seen a thrilling history - being converted from symbols of a divided city into central locations of a vivid city landscape. More than 160 museums invite you to enjoy the world of arts, history and technology. Every night the curtain is raised in three opera houses and more than 50 theatres.
