The University of Latvia, Riga, offers a two year programme providing
an excellent opportunity to obtain an interdisciplinary Master's
degree in Baltic Sea region issues. The programme offers the opportunity
to develop competences in the humanities, social, and environmental
disciplines related to Baltic Sea region countries. The need for
such competences has arisen due to the continuing integration among
Baltic Sea region countries and, with the rise of their cultural,
economic and political importance within the European Union and
the world. On completion of the programme, the master's graduates
are then qualified to continue their academic research at doctoral
level and/or to pursue careers in public service or private enterprise.
