An Evening on Sexual Problems
Last night in the large hall at the Asahi Shimbun headquarters, Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, head of the Sexology Institute in Berlin, spoke on the theme of "The Natural Laws of Love". As previously announced, the lecture began at 5:30 p.m. on the first.
After being introduced by the head of the Inquiries Department, Dr. Hirschfeld began by saying: "Love must be based on the natural sciences rather than on customs and manners." He then spent two and a half hours talking about the scientific viewpoint of love, after which he showed many slides to illustrate his theme. Herr Wilhelm Gundert, the head of the Japan-Germany Cultural Association, gave a very fluent translation in Japanese to an extremely enthusiastic audience of about 800 people. The lecture was a great success, and it ended at 9:30 p.m.
