Der samische Einfluss auf die skandinavischen Sprachen Die skandinavischen Sprachen weisen
eine Reihe von Merkmalen auf, die sie
von den anderen germanischen Sprachen
unterscheiden. Obwohl diese
Merkmale Parallelen in den benachbarten
samischen Sprachen besitzen,
ist ein samischer Einfluss auf die skandinavischen
Sprachen bisher meist
kategorisch abgelehnt worden. Dies
beruht in erster Linie auf der Stigmatisierung
der Samen im 19. und frühen
20. Jahrhundert.
The Sami Influence on the Scandinavian Languages The Scandinavian languages show a number of features that differentiate them from other Germanic languages. Even though these features run parallel to the neighbouring Sami languages, any influence Sami may have had on the Scandinavian languages has mostly been categorically denied in the past. This has mainly been caused by the stigmatization of the Sami during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The present study does not only attempt to trace various Scandinavian features back to influences caused by Sami interference, but also to show that the spreading of these features was also possible from a sociolinguistic perspective. In this, the focus lies particularly on the relationship between Sami and Scandinavians during the common Scandinavian period. Among other things, the representation of the Sami in Old West-Norse literature as well as the possibility of any Sami influence on Scandinavian mythology are treated.
