Dominik Perler (born 1965) is Professor of Philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (since 2003) and Member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Arts and Science (since
2007). He studied at the Universities of Fribourg (Dr. phil. 1991) and Göttingen (Habilitation
1996), was Fellow of All Souls and Lecturer in Philosophy at Oxford (1996-97) and Professor of Philosophy at Basel (1996-2003). He had visiting appointments at UCLA, St. Louis University, Tel Aviv University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg (Institute for Advanced Study) in Berlin (2004-05) and at the Istituto Svizzero di Roma (2010). In 2006, he was awarded the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Preis. His research focuses on medieval and early modern philosophy, mostly in the areas of philosophy of mind, epistemology and ontology.
