Paolo Rubini (1967) studied at the universities of Bologna, Turin, Marburg, and Bochum. Since October 2006, he has been a member of the research Project "Transformations of the Mind. Philosophical Psychology between 1500 and 1700." at Humboldt-Univeristät, Berlin. He is working on his disseration about Pietro Pomponazzi's theory of knowledge and the naturalisation of the human mind in late aristoteleanism. His tutor is Prof. Dominik Perler. He also works on an edition of a commentary on Aristotle's De Anima by Pietro Pomponazzi.

His interest lie in the history of philosophy, and include Aristotle's psychology and philosophy of nature, philosophical psychology and theory of knoweledge in the late aristoteleanism, especially in Pietro Pomponazzi's philosophy, the reception of De Anima and Parva Naturalia in the renaissance, the paripathetic tradition in the early modern ages, and middle latin palaeography.
