Stephan Schmid (1981) has been a member of the research project "Transformations of the Mind. Philosophical Psychology between 1500 and 1700." at Humboldt-Universität, Berlin, since 2007. He studied at the university of Basel and at Humboldt-Universität, Berlin.
His major systematics interests are in the philosophy of mind (teleosemantics and inferentialism), the theory of explanation (causal and teleological explanations), and in metaphysics (conceivability and possibility). His major historical interests lie in early modern philosophy, particularly in Spinoza's philosophy.
Furthermore, he takes an interest in theories of fictionality (e.g. Kendall Walton).
