The European Metalworkers’ Federation

is the umbrella organisation representing 79 metalworkers' unions from 33 countries with a combined total of 5.5 million affiliates. It is therefore the representative body defending the interests of workers in the European metal industry.

We are currently seeking to employ a
full-time administrative officer (German mother tongue)
in order to replace a staff member on maternity and parental leave from September 2011 to end of June 2012

Job description
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• translation (e.g. invitations, agendas, minutes, short policy papers) from English and French into German and proof-reading of German documents
• supporting the EMF Secretariat in its administrative work: e.g. organisation and follow-up of meetings and Conferences
• Liaising with the organisation’s members and the European Institutions.

Your profile:
• you are German mother tongue with excellent command of English and good knowledge of French.
• You have very good command of MS Office tools
• You have a very good general education with emphasis on languages, preferably including previous experience in secretarial work
• You are highly organised, autonomous and stress resistant.
• Prior experience in a European or international work environment is an asset.
