Digital format
Workshop for Early Career and PhD Researchers
As researchers we bring new understandings and new insights to areas that are important. But what often eludes us is how we can make our research have influence. What, exactly, can we do to try and make sure our research has an impact on policy and practice? This is challenging for all researchers and can be especially daunting during a PhD or early in ones career.
This session will explore some of the things that researchers can do to ensure our work has influence. It will focus on goals and strategies that are practical and realistic. It may be especially useful for early career researchers but should be useful to anyone wanting to develop and build research impact skills.
Lawrence McNamara is Reader in Law at the University of York, England.
This PhD workshop is part of the online conference Immigration Law and Policy, Border Control and Migrant Deaths taking place Thursday, 30th September until Friday, 1st October 2021, but will be of interest to a wider audience.
