On-shell methods and anomalies

In my talk, I will introduce the on-shell amplitudes program as the idea to generate S-matrices without reference to a Lagrangian. One possible concern in this approach is that traditionally the Lagrangian does teach us about physical properties of a theory, such as charge conservation, color structures and anomaly cancellation conditions. How do these notions arise without a Lagrangian?
