Sc. in Physics, Julius Maximilian University of W\u00fcrzburg, 2017<\/p>\n<h4>Research project<\/h4>\n<p>I am working with Prof. Dr. Rainer Sommer and Dr. Oliver B\u00e4r on quantifying excited states effects in lattice QCD. These affect the correlation functions computed in lattice experiments and hinder the precise determination of important QCD observables. The occurrence of excited states is due to the fact that the interpolating fields, which are used in lattice computations, do not only excite the desired particles from the vacuum, but also others with the same quantum numbers. On the theory side, we can quantify the impact of these states in Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT), a low energy effective theory of QCD. In my research project, I will focus on excited states contaminations in B meson observables. The large mass of the bottom quark dictates the use of Heavy Quark effective theory on the lattice, whereas Heavy Meson ChPT is the appropriate tool for us to quantify the size of the excited states. We are primarily interested in the B meson mass and decay constant as well as form factors of semileptonic decays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brief CV M.
