metaxy[l]ophon: about the event series<\/p>\n
We are always searching for new ways of thinking and working together in order to find inspiring and innovative ways of working in collectives, communities and networks that supplement \u2018regular\u2019 academic events such as workshops, conferences and seminars. This continuous search has yielded our new online event series, the \u201cmetaxy[l]ophon.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ancient Greek word \u2018metaxy\u2019 means \u2018in-between\u2019 and is one of the most significant notions in Simone Weil\u2019s thinking. The \u2018metaxy\u2019 refers to relations, or more precisely, to relationality. It links and separates at the same time. The \u201cxylophone\u201d (German \u2018Xylophon\u2019 without \u2018e\u2019 at the end) helps us to listen attentively: to words but also to spaces between the words, to rhythm and sound.<\/p>\n
We envision the \u201cmetaxy[l]ophon\u201d as an open series of table-talk-like dialogues lasting roughly one hour.
