Explore this semester’s theme “Cripping ethnographic methods: exploring anti-ableist potentials of multimodal anthropology” and save the dates!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Stadtlabor’s upcoming Winter Series 25\/26 ‘Cripping ethnographic methods: exploring anti-ableist potentials of multimodal anthropology’ is an exercise in rethinking how ethnographic research can be done by centering disablement\/debility as a lived experience, knowledge system and political standpoint of disabled researchers themselves. The series will challenge ableist norms in academic knowledge production, research practices and participation by sharing experiences, experiments and models in multimodal anthropology and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Series will feature the following events:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– ENABLING ETHNOGRAPHY: <\/strong>Crafting Anti-Ableist Fieldwork Methods by Erin Durban. 20th October 2025. 4pm-6pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– TOWARDS A QUIET ETHNOGRAPHY: <\/strong>deafness and methodology by Julia Sauma. 1st December 2025. 4pm-6pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– ABCs OF CITIZEN SOCIAL SCIENCE AS SELF-ADVOCACY FOR LESS-LISTENED-TO PEOPLE <\/strong> by Kelly Fagan Robinson, 5th January 2026. 4pm-6pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– PATCHWORK ETHNOGRAPHY: <\/strong>a Methodological Guide by Chika Watanabe. 2nd February 2026. 4pm-6pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
