\"\"I am a doctoral candidate at the Institute for European Ethnology of Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin since May 2018.<\/p>\n

I focus on the intersection of Political Ecology with Science and Technologies Studies. My research interests include local and global connections raised by mining extractivism, as well as human-environmental relations.<\/p>\n

My research project consists of an ethnographical approach to investigate the social and ecological conflicts caused by copper mining in the Chilean Region of Tarapaca. The analytical focus is mainly based on diverging understandings of nature among the conflict parties. These value systems, currently understood in literature primarily as \u201cnatural regimes\u201d are gaining in importance because they articulate indigenous and social positions critical of capitalism that have hitherto remained invisible to established economic interests. The case study refers beyond its concrete context to a current debate in Latinoamerica: Human-environment relations are changing rapidly and thus promote new ways of dealing with resource extraction and environmental conservationism.<\/p>\n
