\"\"<\/a>How do we cohabit in troubled planetary ecologies? How to do environmental anthropology amid troubled ecologies and global struggles for democracy? And how can ethnographic film serve as one possible device for a public and engaged environmental anthropology?<\/p>\n

We tackle these questions in the impulse talk \u201cEthnographic film as a format for Public Anthropology? Thinking with Beekeeping in the End Times,\u201d alongside the screening of the film \u201cBeekeeping in the End Times\u201d by anthropologists and filmmakers Larisa Ja\u0161arevi\u0107 and Azra Ja\u0161arevi\u0107.<\/p>\n

About the film<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beekeeping in the End Times<\/a> is an indie documentary by Larisa Ja\u0161arevi\u0107 and Azra Ja\u0161arevi\u0107, the co-directors, sisters, and beekeepers. It brings together ethnographic research and filmmaking to tell upbeat stories about multispecies love and human responsibility in the face of the world going to wrack and ruin.<\/p>\n

The talk and the screening are followed by a joint discussion, sparked by comments from the anthropologists, filmmakers, and beekeepers Greca Meloni<\/a> (University of Vienna) and Felix Remter<\/a> (Rachel Carson Center LMU Munich)<\/p>\n
