Das Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft hat des Länderinstitut für Bienenkunde Hohen Neuendorf e.V. beauftragt, Biodiversität der Honigbiene in Deutschland zu erfassen. Die Ergebnisse sind hier publiziert. Ziel war unter anderem, regional angepasste Bienen aufzufinden und Schutzbedarf gefährdeter Bestände zu erkennen. Eine weitere Teilnahme wird in ein Nachfolgeprojekt eingehen.
