Mapping Controversies

Wednesday 30. November 2022, 16:30, Kiezraum, Colloquium
Language: English

We are pleased to invite members of the Stadtlabor for multimodal Anthropology and those involved with (or interested in) public-civic-partnerships Haus der Statistik and Rathausblock Kreuzberg to our collaboratory session of the Urban Anthropology Colloquium „Mapping Controversies“!

The Urban Anthropology Colloquium is a weekly meeting of scholars and research associates working at the Stadtlabor for multimodal Anthropology. In this session, the PCP Modelleprojekte Team will be co-hosting and opening the session to a broader audience.

What questions are raised by the application of the concept „controversies“ to urban development processes, or urban affairs in general? When does thinking with the idea of shared uncertainty reach its limits? In what ways is working with mapping (for urban development processes as well as for urban anthropology) problematic? Ignacio Farías will address these questions before opening the floor for discussion.

After 18:00 there will be an opportunity to continue talking over drinks at the bar.
