The "Stadtlabor for Multimodal Anthropology" aims at developing ‘an anthropology of/as urbanism’. It critically explores governmental, everyday, insurgent and more-than-human practices of city making. It also experiments with ethnography as a more-than-textual, multimodal practice.

MULTIMODAL RESEARCH DEVICES

Scenographic Encounters at the Zauderbude with Rebecca Wall & Felix Marlow

How can we stage encounters through multimodal research devices?

Rebecca Wall and Felix Marlow will host this session at the Zauderbude, their on-site research device at Haus der Statistik. After exploring the Zauderbude’s genealogy and how it works as a scenographic setting in their research, they propose ways to rethink the format of the ethnographic interview.  They will then lead us in a hands-on session in collage-making as a technique for imagining how examples from the Zauderbude might influence our own research practices.

Everyone is welcome for this on-site session. Snacks & Drinks will be provided.

Date: Wednesday, 5 July
Time: 16:00-19:00
Location: Haus der Statistik (Innenhof/inner courtyard)
next to Autoscooter (across from Berolinastraße 19 – see map)
