How to apply for International Parliamentary Scholarships in Berlin

Are you interested in gaining insights into the German parliamentary system and complete an internship with a member of the German Bundestag? On this page you will find all relevant information for the application process. Please note that the application process is organised by the administration of the German Bundestag.

The International Parliamentary Scholarship is open to well-qualified and highly motivated young people who are open to new ideas, interested in politics, and wish to play an active and responsible role in shaping the democratic future of their country. Successful candidates will be chosen based on their professional, social, language and intercultural skills by an independent selection panel set up by the German Bundestag with the involvement of the Berlin universities.

To participate in the International Parliamentary Scholarship, you must:

  • Have a citizenship of a participating country (see list on the Website of the German Bundestags), dual citizenship is permitted
  • Have completed a university degree
  • Have very good knowledge of the German language (minimum B2 level)
