Institute for Bee Research
Hohen Neuendorf e.V.
The Institute for Bee Research Hohen Neuendorf (LIB) is a research facility jointly supported by the five German federal states of Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Thuringia and Berlin. It has the mandate to carry out practical research on various aspects of bee biology.
Based on a recommendation made by the Science Council when establishing the institute, the following research priorities were set: breeding, molecular microbiology and diseases of the bee, and bee products. The institute carries out further tasks in the areas of training and further education of apiarists and the general public as well as practical beekeeping.
