The "Stadtlabor for Multimodal Anthropology" aims at developing ‘an anthropology of/as urbanism’. It critically explores governmental, everyday, insurgent and more-than-human practices of city making. It also experiments with ethnography as a more-than-textual, multimodal practice.

Illustrating Research

Interested in learning more about how drawing, illustration, and comics are being incorporated into anthropological research and communication?  You are warmly invited to the workshop “Illustrating Research – Graphic Ethnography and Doing Anthropology Otherwise”, organized by the Stadtlabor for Multimodal Anthropology.

When: Wednesday, 7 June, 16:00-18:00

Where: Room 212 @IfEE

We welcome Dr. Letizia Bonanno (University of Kent) and Dr. Samir Harb (Humboldt), who will share about their practice as both illustrators and researchers.  We will also be drawing (even those who think they cannot), so bring some basic materials like paper and a pencil.  At the event you can also learn about newly created illustration work station at the Stadtlabor as well as the newly formed Graphic Research Working Group.
