Workshop #3 podcast

  • Post category:event / journal

For our third and final workshop we invited a small group of editors, publishers, professors in degree-granting programs and members of academic societies – people who play gatekeeping roles – to try out evaluation practices that we had developed on selected multimodal works: a game, a book+audio/visual material + website, a graphic ethnography, a film.

We then asked them to reflect on how effective these practices were at helping them to identify and articulate the value(s) of multimodal works or how we might use these or other practices to institutionalise multimodal forms and formats in future gatekeeping encounters.

Towards the end of the two-day workshop, we asked the participants what they took home from the workshop and, in particular, what in their position might be needed for multimodality to be properly evaluated in different contexts.
