Project Content
The project focuses on building a digital integration platform for newly arrived migrants in Germany. The platform combines a multilingual AI chatbot based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with a structured buddy system inspired by university buddy programs. The research focus lies in applied AI, data-driven matching, multilingual information retrieval, and user-centered digital design in a socially impactful context.
Tasks for Interns
UX/UI Design
Support the design of user-centered interfaces for a multilingual web application, including user flows, wireframes, and UI components, with a focus on accessibility and clarity.

Marketing
Assist in user research, communication strategies, and the development of outreach materials for universities, NGOs, and migrant communities.

Data Engineering (AI)
Support the collection, cleaning, and structuring of textual data for a RAG-based system, including chunking, embeddings, and evaluation of data quality.

Web Development
Contribute to the development of a web-based MVP, implementing frontend and backend features, and integrating AI-based services into the product.

Requirements
We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in applied research, digital products, and social impact. Interns should be able to work independently, communicate clearly in English, and be willing to collaborate in an interdisciplinary startup environment. Basic technical or design skills relevant to the respective field are expected; prior startup experience is a plus but not required.
Expected Preparation
Interns are expected to have foundational knowledge in their field of study and an interest in learning applied, real-world skills. Familiarity with digital tools, collaborative workflows, and research-oriented thinking is beneficial. No prior knowledge of the German integration system is required.
