String scattering amplitudes and the numbers they contain
Abstract: I will review recent work on scattering amplitudes in string theory at the one-loop order. The underlying geometry of the string world-sheet is a two-dimensional torus and this has consequences for the types of functions and numbers that can arise in the amplitude. These can be packaged and analysed using iterated integrals that relate to multiple zeta values.
