Date(s) - 26/11/2025
10:00 - 11:00

For the student seminar of this week we will have Giuseppe Casale with a talk on λ-deformations. Details are below.
Time: Wed., November 26, 10.00 | Location: Seminar room 1.221
Abstract: λ-deformations provide a systematic framework for generating families of two-dimensional field theories, effectively interpolating between known (and integrable!) non-linear σ-models: the gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten model and the non-Abelian T-dual of a Principal Chiral Model. This talk will be almost entirely devoted to building a λ-deformed theory. Finally, I will show the remarkable utility of these constructions by explaining how they can be used to generate solutions of type-II supergravity on physically significant backgrounds, such as (undeformed) Anti-de Sitter space. This provides a direct link between the world of 2D integrability and supergravity.
