We are pleased to welcome Prof. Tobias Osborne, co-lead of the Quantum Information Group at Leibniz University Hannover. Professor Osborne’s research focuses on quantum computing and quantum algorithms, with recent work exploring the potential of large language models in research. In addition, he is actively involved in initiatives supporting (neuro)diversity in STEM. Prof. Osborne hold a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Queensland (Australia) and have previously held postdoctoral and faculty positions in the UK before moving to Hannover. In this seminar, Professor Osborne will speak about the challenges of knowledge work and what it really means to build a research career today. The talk will explore how theory, software, and hardware are increasingly required to co-evolve, and what this means for modern research in quantum science and beyond. The session is designed to create an open and relaxed space for early-career researchers and students to ask questions, explore career paths, and exchange ideas.
