Abstract: In this talk we will see what 2-groups are and how they can be constructed using category theory. To do this I will introduce categories and 2-categories and how they represent a 2-group. We will then try to connect these abstract definitions with something we all know quite well: representations of groups. The talk is mostly based on the paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/1003.4485
