Abstract: I will talk about the group E_6. I will give a hopefully short group theory introduction where I will show how to characterize a simple Lie algebra and how the E_6 algebra falls under this structure. Then I’ll talk about what is the symmetry that the group preserves, from octonions to projective space. In particular, I’ll focus on a specific real form that is relevant for E_6 exceptional field theory.
