Recently, the deep connection between scattering amplitudes and gravity has been widely explored. Classical limits of amplitudes can help understanding GR in the limit of small G, and so they proved to be a precious tool for exploring some perturbative limit of a theory that otherwise is highly non trivial. In 1987, ‘t Hooft proposed that the ultra-relativistic graviton-mediated 2->2 scalar scattering could be seen as the 1->1 scattering on a particle on the shock-wave metrics. In this talk, I will present some recent results obtained in literature following the same principle with other particles, eventually introducing some new perspectives I am exploring together with C. Iuliano.
