Entropic Gravity Part II: Deriving the Einstein equations

For our next student seminar, Mathias Driesse will finish his two-part series of talks on entropic gravity. Details are below.

Abstract: I will review the original proposal for entropic gravity from 1995 and show how to derive the Einstein equations from thermodynamic considerations. I will highlight the weaknesses and assumptions of this approach and if time permits, I will also proceed with a brief discussion on the Verlinde proposal and how it differs.
