Next RTG Student Seminar will be held by Jasper Roosmale Nepveu and Camilla Lavino, who will cover the following topics:

1st part – Infinite Field Anomalous Dimension

Speaker: Jasper Roosmale Nepveu

Abstract:
“Taking the scalar theory as a simple example, I will discuss the basics of EFT operator basis construction and renormalization. I will point out an ambiguity in the calculation which leads to infinite anomalous dimensions of the field, while keeping the S-matrix finite.”

2nd part – The Analytic Conformal Bootstrap

Speaker: Camilla Lavino

Abstract:
“A Conformal Field Theory is a Quantum Field Theory with additional symmetries such as scale symmetry and special conformal symmetry. These symmetries completely fix the space time dependence of the two-point and three-point correlator. What about the four-point correlator? Conformal symmetry fixes the structure of the four-point correlator up to a function of a particular combination of the coordinates. The Analytic Conformal Bootstrap provides a method to compute this function. In particular, I will talk about how to use the Conformal Bootstrap in a large spin regime.”

The Zoom link will be distributed to RTG students via email and can be requested to Giuseppe Casale or Andres Stump.
