Abstract:
Gravitational dynamics is notoriously difficult to integrate. The momentum transfer of two scattering black holes for example involves Calabi-Yau manifolds, as recently discovered by Jan’s WQFT group [2411.11846], published in Nature(!).
Today we will discuss the much simpler probe limit, on which I have been working. In this setting, remarkably, only polynomials appear. Based on soon to be published work [2506.xxxx], we will see how apparently iterated integrals factorise to such polynomials. We then explore tantalising evidence that this factorisation happens very generally for theories involving worldlines, possibly applicable to binary scattering.
