This week we are kicking off the series of student seminars with a seminar by Lukas Holan on Spectral Reconstruction via the Nevanlinna-Pick Problem. Details are below.
Time: Wed., October 15, 10.00 | Location: Seminar room 1.221
Abstract: The Nevanlinna-Pick problem is rooted in complex analysis and deals with questions of interpolation. This relatively old problem has recently reemerged in lattice field theory as a possible way to obtain the spectral density. Quite generally, most methods used for spectral reconstruction suffer from uncontrolled systematic errors. Nevanlinna-Pick provides a rigorous way of bounding these errors and thus might prove fruitful in the future. In the talk, I will mainly focus on the mathematical side of the problem and will only allude to the application to lattice field theory.
