Supersphere Non-linear Sigma Model On The Lattice

Abstract:

“Two-dimensional O(N) non-linear sigma models are exactly solvable theories and have many applications, from statistical mechanics to their use as QCD toy models. I will consider a supersymmetric generalisation of the O(N) model, i.e. the non-linear sigma model on the supersphere. This sigma model can be thought of as a toy model for string worldsheet theories with target space supersymmetry. I will show its properties in the continuum and on the lattice and present the latest numerical results.”

The Zoom link will be distributed to RTG students by email and can be requested from Andres Stump or Giuseppe Casale.
