Alessandra Buonanno receives Galileo Galilei Medal

Prof. Alessandra Buonanno has been awarded the Galileo Galilei Medal together with Prof. Thibault Damour (Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques) and Prof. Frans Pretorius (Princeton University).

With this prize the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) honours Alessandra Buonanno for “the fundamental understanding of sources of gravitational radiation by complementary analytic and numerical techniques, enabling predictions that have been confirmed by gravitational wave observations and are now key tools in this new branch of astronomy”. For more information see the press release of the Albert Einstein Institute in Potsdam.

We congratulate Alessandra Buonanno on this recognition of her scientific achievements.
