Computer time for RTG Lattice project

The Lattice group has been awarded 32M core-hours on the supercomputer Lise at the HLRN (https://www.hlrn.de/?lang=en) computing center, for the project “Towards QCD+QED simulations with C* boundary conditions at physical QED coupling”. In one year, starting from July 1st, the Lattice group will run on Lise simulations, which would take about 450 years on an … Read more Computer time for RTG Lattice project

Paper accepted at PRL

Our paper on the efficient use of worldline qft techniques for the construction of gravitational wave forms in the scattering of two black holes, neutron stars or stars has been accepted in PRL. A great success for our double copy collaboration of Jan^2*Gustav^2!

Two new RTG members

Our third hiring round has been completed with the hiring of two new doctoral researchers, Alessandro Cotellucci (U Bologna) and Moritz Kade (TU Munich). We warmly welcome them to the RTG and wish a successful and enjoyable time at Humboldt University.

Alessandra Buonanno receives Galileo Galilei Medal

Prof. Alessandra Buonanno has been awarded the Galileo Galilei Medal together with Prof. Thibault Damour (Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques) and Prof. Frans Pretorius (Princeton University). With this prize the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) honours Alessandra Buonanno for “the fundamental understanding of sources of gravitational radiation by complementary analytic and numerical techniques, … Read more Alessandra Buonanno receives Galileo Galilei Medal

Kick-off hike

A kick-off hike for our new RTG members took place on Monday Oct 26th. Despite the drizzle at the beginning and COVID-19 protective measures the easy walk in the Dahlemer Feld was an enjoyable opportunity to meet and talk to fellow doctoral students and PIs.
