The first two of this years’ interns, Jilly Kevo and Maite Carli, have started their internship with us. Under supervision of our PIs Gaetan Borot and Olaf Hohm they will work on research projects in Mathematical Physics. We wish Jilly and Maite an enjoyable and productive time with us.

Tim Meier and Stijn van Tongeren’s publication Quadratic twist-noncommutative gauge theory is not only the first RTG publication in 2023 but also our 50th publication in total. Congratulations to all RTG members for the productive time since the inception of the RTG in spring 2020.
Markus Schulze, a former PI at the RTG, is currently a member of the winter team of the Antarctica research station Neumayer III. The entire winter team has published an open letter addressing the German Government about the urgency of climate crisis. The Lattice group has been awarded 45M core-hours on the supercomputer Lise at the HLRN computer center to continue the project “Towards QCD+QED simulations with C* boundary conditions at physical QED coupling”. As from September 12th we have a new doctoral researcher in our research training group. Raj Patil will work on gravitational wave physics with our PI Alessandra Buonanno. We wish Raj an easy start and a successful time with us!
On Sep 2nd Lina Alasfar passed her PhD thesis defence. She is our first doctoral researcher who successfully finished her doctoral studies. Congratulations, Dr. Alasfar!
