Many studies have confirmed the power of unconscious biases in shaping decisions in almost every aspect of life. Facing the challenge to select the best doctoral researchers from more than a 160 applicants from all over the world, the PIs of the RTG participated in a training seminar to address various forms of unconscious biases and ways to avoid them. The two-hour webinar, offered by Hanna Völkle and Kathrin Mahler Walther of the EAF in Berlin was highly informative and absolutely worth ist time.
