LAEHR members host a session in the Institute for European Ethnology’s Kolloquium. The winter term topic is “Spectres and Spectrums.”
In the session titled “Hauntings in Knowledge Production”, Milena Bister, Adina Dymczyk, Jelena Grosse-Bley, Anja Klein and Alexander Schindler discuss how human-environment relations are known by different communities of practice and how this knowledge is haunted in various ways by different sorts of absences, ghosts, spectres, histories and future imaginations. Drawing on individual research projects, the group will demonstrate how hauntings can be acknowledged as actants in knowledge production that we encounter during anthropological fieldwork or analysis, not least in manifestations of gaps, unruly feelings and past and future ghostly presences.
Everybody is very welcome!
